A home is considered a luxury property when it falls into the top ten percent of its local market. Since every area and market is different, there is no magic price point that defines luxury. A waterfront home may be considered luxury in one town, while a horse property may be considered luxury in another town.

Buyers that are looking for a luxury property search online just like other buyers. However, simply putting a listing on the multiple listing service (MLS) is not enough to sell a luxury property.
